About us
Connecting people affected by breast cancer
Following their own breast cancer diagnosis, Caroline and Janine met in the summer of 2021. Both searching for the silver lining in their experience and with a keen determination to support others navigating their way through a breast cancer diagnosis, the idea of Breast Friends, a peer support group, was born!
Here at Breast Friends, we have two very simple aims; to connect people affected by breast cancer and to raise awareness of the disease. Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis and going through treatment is always challenging and is often a very lonely experience too. Hosting four virtual peer support hubs, serving the whole of East Anglia, Breast Friends provides a safe space for members to chat, connect and share experiences with others that completely understand how it feels to go through diagnosis and treatment. Each month, our members are invited to gather face-to-face at a whole range of comunity-based events including Wellness Walks, Stride & Dine, Art Workshops and much more.
With the help of our hospital partnerships and with funding from our Breast Friends Forever Fund, Breast Friends offers tangible support in the shape of of our Surgery and Menopause Kits. These little bundles are jam-packed with products and information to support individuals that are facing breast cancer related breast surgery or that are experiencing the symptoms of menopause following a breast cancer diagnosis.
Breast Friends relies on the generosity of fundraisers and donations to help sustain these crucial services.
